City Overview
Xinxiang, in northern Henan on the north bank of the Yellow River, is the regional center of northern Henan and a transport hub (the Beijing-Guangzhou railway and the Jingg-Hong-Ao expressway pass through). Rich in universities and research institutes, it is strong in batteries ("China’s battery-industry capital"), pharmaceuticals and machinery. The southern Taihang scenery (Balihou, Wanxianshan) and the Guoliang cliff-corridor road are famous. Cost of living and housing are low; on fertile plains, it is a gateway linking the Zhengzhou metro circle and southeastern Shanxi.
