🇧🇷 Brazil · Housing
Renting and buying property in Brazil — typical rents, deposits, contracts, and official tenancy rules.
Brazil rental housing is mostly handled through private leases, condominium rules and municipal utility registrations. Tenants should verify the lease term, guarantor or insurance requirement, condominium fees and whether the property can support local address registration.
- Residential leases commonly use a guarantor, security deposit, surety bond or rent-guarantee insurance.
- Condominium fees, IPTU property tax allocation and utilities should be stated clearly in the contract.
- Foreign residents may need a CPF and proof of address for banking, telecom and local services.
