🇹🇷 Turkey · Housing

Renting and buying property in Turkey — typical rents, deposits, contracts, and official tenancy rules.

Türkiye has active rental and ownership markets in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and resort cities; foreign buyers should separate ordinary housing searches from title-deed rules and residence-permit effects.

  • Foreign nationals may buy many property types, but title and restricted-zone checks are handled through the land-registry process.
  • Owning property does not automatically equal long-term residence or citizenship; those are separate immigration tracks.
  • Rental contracts, address registration and private health insurance often matter for residence-permit applications.
