🇹🇷 Turkey · Citizenship

Naturalization and citizenship-by-investment: residence years, language and civics tests, dual-citizenship rules, and multi-passport planning.

Turkish citizenship can be acquired through ordinary naturalisation, exceptional routes and investment-linked routes; dual citizenship is generally allowed, but applicants should verify their other nationality’s rules.

  • NVI lists ordinary naturalisation conditions including five years of uninterrupted residence before application.
  • NVI’s citizenship FAQ lists investment routes including at least USD 400,000 in real estate held with a three-year no-sale annotation; TKGM guidance still references the USD 400,000 property threshold.
  • Exceptional citizenship is discretionary and should not be treated as an automatic right even when listed conditions are met.
