In Canada, AML/CFT is governed by the PCMLTFA and overseen by FINTRAC, the national financial intelligence unit and supervisor. Reporting entities (financial institutions, money services businesses, and others) must enrol, identify clients (KYC), keep records, and report suspicious, large-cash and electronic-funds transactions to FINTRAC.
