China does not have a digital nomad visa. Remote workers usually enter on a tourist (L) visa or under the expanded visa-free / transit schemes (up to 30 days for nationals of many countries as of 2026) — but these are strictly for tourism or business meetings and do not permit work in China. Legal employment requires a work permit and Z visa converted to a residence permit.
