Remote-work visa programs, income requirements, duration, taxes, and application steps.
Thailand launched the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) in July 2024 — a five-year, multiple-entry visa for remote workers, freelancers and "workcation" travellers, allowing stays of up to 180 days per entry (extendable once). It requires proof of savings (around 500,000 THB) and is for remote work for clients/employers outside Thailand, not local employment. Higher-earning professionals may use the Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa.
