🇸🇬 Singapore · AI Regulations

AI governance regime (EU AI Act and local frameworks), risk tiers, transparency duties, and the official authority.

Singapore takes a pro-innovation, framework-driven approach rather than a dedicated AI law. The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and PDPC maintain the voluntary Model AI Governance Framework (with editions for generative and agentic AI) and the AI Verify testing toolkit. Existing laws (e.g. data protection, sector rules) still apply to AI systems.

  • No dedicated AI law; a voluntary, framework-driven approach led by IMDA/PDPC.
  • The Model AI Governance Framework and AI Verify toolkit guide responsible AI.
  • Existing laws (data protection, sector rules) still apply to AI systems.
