Insurance in United Arab Emirates — health, travel, and digital-nomad cover, what is mandatory, and how to choose a plan.

Beyond mandatory health insurance, the main compulsory cover in the UAE is motor third-party liability insurance for vehicles. Expatriate employees do not pay into a national social-security scheme but are entitled to an end-of-service gratuity (with a newer savings-scheme option); Emiratis are covered by the GPSSA pension. Insurers are regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE.
